We will be launching an accelerator programme for UK University Students! After speaking to students and collecting lots of information, we’ve identified students need hands-on experience to help them secure internships and graduate jobs!
We are collaborating with an award winning company Dotplot, a health tech company building an at-home breast health monitoring tool for women
Dotplot is named New Startup of the Year by the world’s largest cancer research charity, Cancer Research UK.
You’ll learn:
– Tech Fundamentals – Product Prototyping, MVP, Design Thinking
– How to build a project – Project Specifications, MVP Mockup etc.
– How to create a compelling pitch deck
You’ll then choose your project role:
- Software Engineering 👨🏾💻
- Data 🌐
And you’ll then gain hands on experience by competing in a hackathon style group project, building a tech product for Dotplot which solving a real world problem they face.
You’ll hone your communication skills by pitching your tech product to a panel of engineers!
The winners will receive a prize!!
Afterwards, you’ll:
- Learn the process of securing your first internship / graduate job
- Receive CV & Interview Prep
- Be added to our alumni network to help you secure job offers
Programme Requirements:
- You must be studying at a UK University
- Starting your penultimate year of university OR final year of university after summer
- Must have programming experience in at least ONE programming language
- Be able to commit to the full duration of the programme
The program is open to students studying any Degree!
Programme Details:
- Programme Duration: 15th July – Aug 1st
- Session Days: Monday – Thursday
- Session Times: Evening Sessions from 6:00pm to 8:30pm
- Sessions will be held virtually
Application guidance:
- You don’t need to have formal professional experience so don’t sweat it. The purpose of the application is to see how you’ve explored your interest in tech. You can do this by demonstrating a range of activities such as but not limited to:
- Participation in tech / coding societies
- Personal Projects or hobbies that involve tech ( building a website, developing a game, creating a mobile app )
- Readings, podcasts, blogs you follow
- Showing your work ( linking to any personal portfolios or repositories like GitHub )
- University coursework / group projects you’ve worked on
